Article KB00048: Activating a Sibelius Annual Upgrade and Support renewal


How to process your Sibelius Annual Upgrade and Support renewal code.

Applies to:

Users who have an existing Sibelius 8+ perpetual licence (not an annual subscription), for which the annual upgrade & support entitlement plan associated with that licence is about to expire in their Avid account. The Sibelius 'Annual Upgrade and Support' renewal package is for renewing this plan, so you maintain your unrestricted access to Avid Sibelius support, and any Sibelius updates that are released for another 12 months.

IMPORTANT: Your plan must not have expired by more than 30 days for the renewal to work

*Note; also available is a 3-Year Upgrade and Support Plan Renewal for Sibelius 8.0 or higher, which follows the same process below, but will provide continued access to Avid Sibelius support and updates for another 3 years instead of 12 months.



The redemption code on the back of your purple Annual Upgrade and Support renewal download card should be in this format for the following instructions to apply:


The ‘SIBR201’ code from the back of your download card should be entered via the ‘My Products and Subscriptions’ page of your Avid account where the existing Sibelius 8+ licence resides as follows:

  1. You can get to the ‘My Products and Subscriptions’ page of your account via the direct link of www.avid.com/subscriptions (just make sure you’re logged into the correct account where you can see the original Sibelius entry from your previous purchase and redemption).

  2. This is what you should see in the account under the Sibelius entry, and you can click reinstate support as circled on the right in the example below:


  3. This will expand the ‘reinstate support’ option, and you should now be able to enter the ‘SIBR201’ code from the back of your download card into the field circled on the bottom-right:


  4. Once you’ve entered your code, click the blue ‘submit’ button on the bottom-right, and your account will be updated when it’s finished processing with the new support period, as shown in the example below:
